Stone Creek - Grand Canyon - Colorado River

Located just below Deubendorff Rapid (8) at mile marker , Stone Creek Camp is an excellent spot for the first boats to capture photos and videos of your group… or for righting boats that decided to run the left run sideways. 

Stone Creek Camp is a fun camp to compare photos. The original photos for this camp were taken in the early 2000’s at a much higher water level and the last few photos were taken in 2023 - a few months after a High Water Event and during low water (5,000-9,000 cfs). You can see that in the early 2000’s, with higher water, the camp was right up against the river with minimal beach area. By 2023, the camp has become a huge beach that can comfortably hold two large groups. 

This camp also has a great groover location. Our group gave this camp 5 out of 5 stars. The one thing to consider is that this camp offers zero shade and is highly exposed to wind.
